This book was a beautiful rendition of the fairytale - Beauty and the Beast. Though nothing beats the original, but this book is just so wonderful. 



Just like any of the stories about Beauty and the Beast, Beauty was bargained to be the wife of the beast (in this novel, he is called the Gentle Lord) and of course, Beauty (name is Nyx here) wants him dead but staying longer in his vast castle makes her rethink everything and never expected that the Gentle Lord was actually, really gentle and I fell in love with him too. 

I was actually surprised that this was the first novel of the author! I mean, this book was beautifully written! There are many wonderful illusions and I imagined every bit of it wonderfully. I'm still have butterflies in my stomach everytime I thought about the Gentle Lord *sighs* The ending was satisfying though confusing and beautiful. Oh I must also commend putting a lot of legends and mythology on this book, very educational though almost all of it are kinda romantic. All in all, beautiful book, great author!
