Book Review: Past Heaven by Laura Ward

Book Review: Past Heaven by Laura Ward
Rating: **** (4/5 stars)

"The idea is that once you really love someone, and I mean the kind of love that fills you up from head to toe, it never leaves you. A love like that surrounds you, always. Time, distance, and even death can't end it. That love is Past Heaven."

“The power of love is both inescapable and infinite.”

Elizabeth Atwater was there when her loving husband was murdered during the most important night of his life. The heroic Jack Atwater was shot right in front of her eyes and it breaks her, tear her apart and makes life difficult to live. Without him, how will she ever live normal again, without him, what will happen to their 3 bright boys and his lifelong legacy. But so they say, their love was past heaven. She needs to continue living for their 3 children. With the help of her family and friend Cindy, she'll survive. Reynolds Carter is one of the most sexiest man in Hollywood. In his 40 years of age, he is the most sought actor in the industry. He made a double look at his life when his girlfriend - Kylie, a 20 something, sexiest actress in Hollywood - cheated on him and it feels like a stabbed knife in his head. He went on a vacation on his parents' home to bitch how fake Hollywood is and that's where his parents suggested that he needs to change his path and do something real, a material that will touch people's lives. Upon suggesting it, he immediately saw a news about the death of Jack. Inspired by it, he researched about him, took his parents advice and make a screenplay and a movie about his life. That's when Liz and Reynolds met, that's when they became each others hope in changing each others lives.

This novel was endearing. I mean four of my weakspots are in this book! 1.) Those cool and adoring kids (Grayson, Griffin and HAYDENNN!! Gosh I love them ) 2.) feel good romance, 3.) man like Reyn who was really good with kids and 4.) those people with disabilities like David... i mean come on, that's my weakest spot - acknowleding their beauty and purpose. They need to be featured more on different novels. And I admired such people (like Jack) who dedicate themselves on centers for people with disabilities. And that was a beautiful story to be accompanied by the romance between the two characters. This book is family oriented and will gives you a glimpse of a wonderful mature relationship. Liz was a packaged deal for a relationship and it was adorable to see how Reynolds got everyone's favor for Liz. Liz was a strong woman and that is something that you will love about her.

If you are looking for a feel good romance, you must read this. But I really appreciate here the part about people with disabilities. So yeah, Past Heaven was a fast read and a nice book.
