Little bit of book haul! Books are love

I don't usually post my book haul because I've got more excited to read and be crazy over the books rather than posting it. But this day was kinda different because I have something to share about this day. So before the books (it was just three books tho), I just have to share how my day went.
I was doing some errands and those errands requires me to go to different offices, specifically the government ones. Well, I was alone and have good intentions and started my day with coffee but then as the day goes by, I have interacted with people who just boils my temper. Well it's just true that just because you want fairness in life and you are fair it doesn't mean that the world or other people willbe fair to you. it was a hot day and I haven't eaten any solid food (I know my mistake) and all day, I wasn't treated well and I was beyond disappointed that I just wanted to cry out of kabwisitan or irritation. I can feel that the hotness of the environment complements the hotness of my head that's why I wasn't using my umbrella because the hot surroundings of 11 am just complements my head. Oh gosh I was beyond disappointed. When I can feel that I am going to lash out over someone near me, thank God the church was just near so I went there. At the church, I cleared my head, cool down my temper even though I still think that banging the door to that lady was not enough, and find another way to nust finish my errand. So I went to another office and hopefully the last one and I was treated the way I and everyone should be treated. There was no secretary that as if he/she owns the world and as if he/she have the rights to actually look at you like another pest to get over with. Nakakaloka. Haaaysssss. So...the book haul! Dahil sa I have (somehow) completed my task, I still need to cool myself down coz sinapak ko pa nga yung tarpaulin na lumipad sa akn nung dumaan ako. Imbyerna pa ako e tapos lilipad lipad pa siya sa akin sa gitna ng daan abaaaaa. So yeah, need another cooling down. Dahil poorita pa ako and I can't  take the privilege of buying some books (much to my dismay), I went to the nearest booksale and try my luck to find some cheap addition to ze bookshelf. Sabi ko nga kanina, it was just three but it was good picks.

So the first one was Anne of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery. I remember that I was 14 when I became a big fan of L.M. Montgomery and her characters. Anne of Green Gables was the first book that I have read which was written by her and I wasn't contented after reading it. I was inspired by Anne and I want to follow her story and join her as she discovers more about the beauty in her life. Anne of Avonlea is a companion of Anne of Green Gables and when I saw this book in the booksale shelf, I have to fight and strain myself as my 14 year old gleefulness comes back to me. I was so desperate to find a copy before and wondering how to get one and 7 years later, I finally saw a copy and it was only ten pesos! Oh, what a joy! Here, it was five years from Anne's arrival at Green Gables. She is 'half past sixteen' and about to return to her old school not as a student but as a teacher! I am pretty sure that this will be an another heartwarming book. I am so excited to read this!

The next book was King Lear by William Shakespeare. Of course, I picked this book simply because it's a Shakespeare's work and King Lear is said to be the "greatest play" by its creator. I was shocked when I saw this book on the shelf with romance novels on the sides. King Lear is a tragedy by William Shakespeare in which the titular character descends into madness after disposing of his estate between two of his three daughters based on their flattery, bringing tragic consequences for allI am not really a Shakespearean but it feels good when you are collecting classics and Shakespeare's works were there too. Oh and it was 30 pesos only!

The River by Michael Neale was the last book I bought today and it cost me 75 pesos. I am not really familiar with the author but I found the book intriguing and it somehow have a peg of Neil Gaiman's Ocean at the end of the Lane. Said in the synopsis: "You were made for the river..." Gabriel Clarke is mysteriously drawn to The River. The rushing waters beckon him to experience freedom and adventure. But something holds him back - the memory of the terrible event he witnessed on The River when he was just five years old - something no child should ever see. When he returns to The River after years away, his heart knows he is finally home. His destiny is within reach. Claiming that destiny will be the hardest - and bravest - thing he has ever done." Aside from the story, the paper of the books and the side pages have its similarity to Gaiman's lane book - it has the same texture from the cover to the pages. Also, Gaiman and Neale offers such intriguing stories with two different bodies of water making a big part of it. Well, I will definitely read this one!

So those are my little book haul. Hahaha. It instantly made me feel better for whatever happened this day. Books are therapy talaga. If only I have the money to buy more precious books uuugggghhh but I have to save. Really save. Nandaya na lang nga ako ngayon e at pikit matang bumili. Buti na lang talaga at may booksale kasi kahit kailangan kong magtipid at wla akong budget to buy books, di ako nagsisisi bumili ng libro. No regrets, just love. So if you are much more fortunate than I am, spend more money on books and experience, those are something that will give you life.
